ACCOUNTABLE TO: Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau CEO and  Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau Gaming Chair

SALARY: Depends on experience

The Comptroller is responsible for the financial statements, quarterly, and yearly reports; quarterly tax returns due to the Office of the Attorney General; daily management of gaming office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Monthly financial statements.
  2. Reconcile Bank Statements.
  3. Make necessary Journal Entries.
  4. Monthly, Quarterly and Year-end Reports.
  5. Completes Payroll Reporting Requirements and Deposits.
  6. Accounts Payable in a timely manner.
  7. Oversees Trust Account
  8. Non-profit required reports.
  9. Day-to-day management and training of gaming office staff, making sure all rules set by the Office of Attorney General are observed.
  10. Works with Gaming Manager to establish Internal Control policies and review as needed.
  11. Works with independent auditors by providing necessary documents to complete an audit.
  12. Prepares Gaming Budget.
  13. Assists CEO/Executive Director with CVB budget.
Office Management
  1. Make sure all office gaming personnel meet necessary training when new rules are implemented.
  2. Make sure Trust monies are deposited timely and dispersed correctly.
  3. Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  4. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  5. Works with CEO/Executive Director to prepare CVB financial reports.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Accounting degree and/or CPA preferred.
  • Budget finance and reporting skills.
  • Supervisory experience helpful.
  • Ability to work to meet deadlines.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Able to multitask.
