POSITION TITLE: Sales Account Manager
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Bismarck-Mandan Convention & Visitors Bureau Director of Sales

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for selling and promoting Bismarck-Mandan as a destination and meeting site to national, regional and state groups. This is accomplished through telephone calls, personal sales calls and the use of other marketing tools.
 
The Sales Account Manager maintains a positive working relationship with area hotels, attractions, associations and CVB members, providing services to current and prospective clients. The Sales Account Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales.
 
Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  1. Solicit business with excellent customer service through telephone calls, networking, volunteering,trade shows and sales trips.
  2. Ability to read and interpret a request for proposal, prepare and present written, oral and electronic bid presentations.
  3. Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, for sales presentations, reports and correspondence.
  4. Maintain current client base; develop new leads and follow-up with potential customers.
  5. activities with customers, participating vendors, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction.
  6. Work assigned market segments and be responsible for meeting specific sales goals.
  7. Make prospecting calls for new business.
  8. Work with hotels and suppliers to attract group business.
  9. Compile data/information reports, cost estimates, etc.
  10. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  11. Attention to detail; excellent organizational and time management skills.
  12. Highly motivated and goal-oriented.
  13. Assist in establishing quarterly action plans, annual goals and objectives and sales strategies.
  14. Write material for monthly newsletter, as requested.
  15. Continually update database on meetings, contacts, bookings, statistics and sales activity.
  16. Represent CVB before community, civic organizations and professional organizations.
  17. Must be willing to travel.
  18. Must be willing to work occasional weekends and evenings.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Sales and/or Executive Director.
 
The Sales Account Manager must hold a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or hospitality.
