History comes to life at historic Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. Take a trip to 1875 and the home of General George and Libbie Custer on Cavalry Square, where their staff still entertains guests with stories of Libbie, the General and the time they spent in Dakota Territory. At the Fort Lincoln Commissary Store enjoy a hand crafted latte and browse through souvenirs, gifts, and a fine collection of books on General Custer.

The hills above Fort Abraham Lincoln provide a great view of the Missouri River Valley with blockhouses standing guard over both the fort and an ancient Mandan Village. On-A-Slant Village, dating back to the 1500s, features six rebuilt earthlodges with exhibits and guided tours. The park's Visitor Center houses the nation's best display of Mandan artifacts and history, along with items of interest on Lewis and Clark and General Custer.

The park is open throughout the year. Interpretive sites are open May 1 through September 30 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Park entrance fees are $7 per vehicle. An interpretive pass, which includes access to all tours and sites, is available for an additional $8 per adults and $5 per student or $25 for a family pass. Campground: 94 RV sites, 57 electric, 37 primitive, shower, dump station, 3 camping cabins, 2 tipis. Campsite, cabine and tipi reservations can be made online at: www.parkrec.nd.gov or by calling 800-807-4723.

General Sibley Park is located on South Washington Street, four miles south of the Bismarck Expressway. The park includes camping sites for tents and campers with electrical hook-ups. There are also full service restrooms, picnic shelters, playgrounds, a 24-hole disc golf course, a historic interpretive trail, amphitheater, water and dump stations and a boat ramp.

Papa's Pumpkin Patch is a seasonal attraction open daily from mid-September through late October. Admission is $5/person and toddlers two years and under are free. Activities include bale mazes, bale castles, Papasville, nature trail, photo opps, trebuchet, pumpkin cannon, and super sandbox.
